Step-by-step method

  2. Subtract openings and calculate nominal block face area from entered dimensions.
  3. Divide net wall area by block face area, apply waste and round up to a whole block.

The result is a planning quantity based on the entered dimensions, coverage/density values and allowance. Procurement should use current product data and site measurements.

Common questions

Why does ToolLott round some quantities up?

Items sold as whole boards, sheets, packs, boxes or panels cannot normally be ordered as fractions, so the tool rounds those purchase quantities upward.

Should I always use the default waste allowance?

No. Use an allowance appropriate to the material, layout, cutting pattern, site conditions and supplier guidance.

Can I use the result as a purchase order quantity?
