Volumetric flow rate conversion method

Flow-rate conversion treats every unit as a volume per unit time and normalises it to m³/s. The base value is then divided by the target factor for m³/h, L/s, L/min, L/h, US gpm or ft³/s.

Normalise to base unit
m^3/s = input x source flow factor

  • Measured flow can fluctuate over time; the converter only changes the unit of the entered rate.

Common questions

Why does the Flow Rate Converter use a base unit internally?

Does conversion change the physical quantity?

No. It expresses the same quantity in a different unit.

Why can the displayed value contain many decimals?
